GE all, and welcome to the July 27 2026 PCL Net.
Early checkin from Endaf, N6UTC. Net order is
Daryl, Wayne, Bob (NY), Carl, Rick, and whoever
else shows up.

The primitive living continues...having been
without a phone for 2 weeks, since I dropped
it after I got back home from the Emergency
Room 2 weeks ago. It appears that the shipping
label sent to me for repairs on the phone had
the WRONG ADDRESS...so, my phone is in limbo.
I may have power, air conditioning, and indoor
plumbing, but I'm getting low on food, and I
have lost my appetite with this stress.

I have to use a friends phone to do any phone
calls, but except for email and ham radio, I'm
cut off from the outside world. I guess I
wasted all that money on the insurance. So, I
am unreachable via phone or SMS until further
notice. I still owe $49 on the lost phone...and
debated about getting a smartwatch, but decided
against it.

I'm afraid to leave home, as if an alarm system
event occurs, and it's false, I get hit with a
hefty fine. I can't go off on errands, let alone
my trips without a phone, and it'll devastate me
if I have to abort the trips, considering I have
not had an out of state trip for more than a day
in 9 years.

To add insult to injury, I had to turn OFF the
OneDrive sharing, delete items from the desktops
of all 3 computers, and reinstall Windows 11 on
one of them. And, to top it off, there were
Echolink and AllStar issues on a net I was trying
to run earlier today. It had to be a Monday (sigh!).

If we get storms for several days, then my nets go
by the boards, and I will be cut off from the
outside world.

GE Wayne...how was your week?? >>>

**

KC2NJV:

Daryl, get a "burner" phone, have it programmed
with your old number...

When you get the old phone fixed, have the numbers
fixed... don't be without a phone.

GE all... Week was another in a long line of weeks
LOL

We got, we think all our repeaters linked, 2 DMR
and 3 Analog, where 2 of the Analogs are linked by
RF, and then linked via RF to Allstar that links
all the other Repeaters

Otherwise...hot, dry weather turning to very wet
weather... in other words, summer...

BTU Daryl...

**

NK5LA:

Wayne, I'll have to look into that, but I can't
afford it until August. Since you said you were
a 1 rounder, you can secure when you need to. FB
on the linked systems.

GE Bob, how was your week?? >>>

**

NS2B:

GE All!

An uneventful week. Reasonably nice weather for
us. Went down to the track over the weekend to
flag for GridLife - they had some drifting cars
that were just amazing.

Changed out my Discone, went back to the J-Pole.
Planted more flowers. Still working on Hamword.

Hang in there Daryl - things will work out.

BTU Daryl >>>

**

NK5LA:

Bob, at least someone has nice weather...it's
over 100 here. Drifting cars sounds like the
drivers around here (hi hi).

GE Carl, how was your week?? >>>

**

KX4AC:

GE All. Definitely been a week here. Actually,
this is birthday week for the Jones kids. Mine
was on the 23rd. My sister is on the 25th, and
my brother is today. All oldsters, of course HiHi

Daryl, it sure sounds like you have angered the
tech gods. Maybe you need to sacrifice a goat
or something :-)

Actually, what I do for the phone thing is that
I have a Google Voice phone number that I give
to everyone, then set that up to forward to my
physical phone. It also allows me to make calls
and texts via computer if I want (though I
sometimes find services that can't deal with
Google numbers for texts). It did not cost
anything when I set it up years ago, don't know
what the deal is nowadays but you might look into
it.

I am still working on HAMWORD this week. Also got
the car in for service. The aircon stopped working,
and in Phoenix in the summer, that is bad. I have a
rental, though, so I still have wheels.

I need to work on some more radio projects, but keep
putting things off.

That's about all for me. Back to net >>>

**

NK5LA:

Carl, on the birthdays, there must have been something
in the water (hi hi).

I have always had an Android phone, and all my data is
in the Google Cloud. I've never heard of that Google
Voice, but that'd be something to look into.

I agree that this time of year is only for the hot
weather lovers. I'm like the meme where when I get
the urge to do things, I lie down, until it goes away
(hi hi).

GE Rick, how was your week?? >>>

**

VA7RBP:

Good evening Daryl and all on the NET.

I have had my shack down for the past two weeks, doing
wiring mods, and now getting everything back together.
My packet node has been running from the living room,
no VHF Packet or APRS.

I have been calling our VHF nets from the kitchen
table... Arlene is now happy that everything is back
in the shack.

We have been having some really hot and smokey days
here with all the lightning started wildfires...
getting smoke from both sides of the border...

Looking forward to winter already...

We have family coming from the coast on the weekend,
for the annual family gathering.

Other than the shack renovations, nothing exciting
to report...just trying to stay cool.

That's all I have, so BTU Daryl. >>>

**

NK5LA:

Rick, FB on the shack renovations and the family
reunion. We've had some fires here, but not as bad
as in some areas. I am wanting winter for the cold
to kill the bugs and stop the grass from growing...
although with this El Nino, it may mean snow and
ice for us.

That's it for round 1...back to the top for final
comments.

Bob, thanks for the use of the BBS...anything else?? >>>

**

NS2B:

Nothing more here - everyone have a good week - 73 >>>

**

NK5LA:

Take care, Bob...see you next time.

Carl, anything else?? >>>

**

KX4AC:

I forgot to mention that I heard from Charley, NT5R. He
was apparently in the Phoenix area for a couple of days,
but we did not manage to connect, so I don't know anything
else.

Everyone have a good week. 73 >>>

**

NK5LA:

Thanks for being here, Carl. Too bad you and Charley
couldn't have an eyeball.

Rick, anything else?? >>>

**

VA7RBP:

Nope, Bob, thanks for providing the BBS space for the NET,
and to Daryl for calling the NET.

Everyone have a great week, stay well, 73 until next time.

BTU Daryl >>>

**

NK5LA:

Have a good week, Rick...see you next time.

That'll do it for tonight's net...I didn't see anything else f
rom Wayne, and he said he was a 1 rounder.

So, we'll say 73, and catch you in August. GN DE NK5LA >>>
