For tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the meteorological services and civil protection agencies of Central America will keep active various surveillance warnings and institutional alerts for strong storms, soil saturation and coastal floods.
The breakdown of current alerts and surveillance by country includes:
🇵🇦 Panama
Significant Rain Surveillance: The IMHPA maintains monitoring by the recent passage of tropical waves and the activation of the monsoon trough.
High Pacific Tides: The warning for maximum tides that will reach 17.5 feet in the Gulf of Panama continues, which generates a risk of flooding if they coincide with the afternoon storms.
Critical areas: Special attention in ChiriquÃ, the south of Veraguas, Azuero and Coclé.
🇨🇷 Costa Rica
Land Saturation Alerts: The National Emergency Commission (CNE) maintains preventive measures in the face of the risk of landslides due to highly saturated soils in mountain areas.
Alert Level: Yellow Alert for the North Pacific, Central Pacific, South Pacific and Central Valley is still in effect. The Northern Zone and the Caribbean remain on Green Alert.

Warnings by Lahares and Niebla: Guatemalaâ€Ös INSIVUMEH maintains special vigilance for the risk of falling lahars in the volcanoes of Fuego and Santiago due to accumulated rains.
Mountain Roads: A warning for drastic reduction of visibility is issued due to dense fog banks in western Honduras and the Sierra Madre de Guatemala overnight.
